Catamaran charter in Croatia is really renting a house that floats to a different island each evening. Brač, Šolta and Hvar sit a short hop from Split, and a shallow-drafted twin hull can tuck into bays so clear you see every pebble below.

In Split the Lagoon 46 is asked for almost more than anything else: an upper helm area with sunbeds, a big saloon, a generator and as many as six cabins in charter configuration. The Fountaine Pajot Elba 45 succeeds the Lucia 40; her party piece is a set of sofas right at the bow for sunset watching, with the saloon flowing into the cockpit.

Each is licensed for twelve on a day sail. For a week they suit three or four couples, two families with kids or a close-knit crowd of friends. A skipper drives; a host or cook can be added on request.

Catamaran charter in Croatia: FAQ

Which model should we go for?

The Lagoon 46 is a touch bigger and carries a generator, a plus for a large family. The Elba 45 wins fans with its bow sofa and joined-up saloon and cockpit, and suits several couples nicely.

Must we start on a Saturday?

Nearly every Croatian fleet turns boats around on Saturdays, so other days are rare. Secure July and August dates early.

What will we pay on top?

Usually fuel, marinas, final cleaning and tourist tax, plus a returnable deposit on weekly charters. The exact list is in the offer.

Is a catamaran easy with kids?

Very: she hardly heels, there is lots of room and the water near shore is shallow. Bring pebble-proof shoes and soft holdalls instead of hard cases.
