Birthday yacht party

Your people, your playlist and a deck that is yours for the afternoon.

Find My Yacht

A birthday on a yacht solves the usual party problems in one go. Nobody has to queue for a table, the venue moves to the best swimming spot of the day and the guest list is exactly who you invited. It works for a milestone like a 30th or 50th, for a small group of close friends or for a surprise organised by someone else, and it is far easier to remember than another dinner reservation.

The size of the group decides the yacht. Every vessel has a licensed maximum number of guests, and in most places the captain cannot take one person more. Groups of up to about 12 fit a mid-size motor yacht, a catamaran gives more open deck and shade for dancing and lounging, and for 30 guests or more you are looking at a superyacht or a large party boat with room for a DJ.

Send us the date, the number of guests and the kind of party you have in mind, from a quiet lunch at anchor to music and dancing until sunset. We ask local charter companies and owners what is available and send options with prices and terms. Cake, catering, decorations, a DJ or water toys can usually be arranged on request, and the offer states exactly what is included.

How to plan it

  1. 01

    Count guests before you choose

Confirm the final number, including children and anyone joining late. The licensed capacity is a legal limit, so a yacht for 12 means 12, and turning a friend away on the dock spoils the start.

  2. 02

    Agree the music rules

Ask whether the yacht has a sound system you can connect a phone to, whether a DJ can be added and whether local rules limit loud music near the shore or in marinas.

  3. 03

Check the food and drink policy

Some operators let you bring your own cake and drinks, others require their own catering or charge a fee. Clarify this before you order a cake or buy a case of champagne.

  4. 04

Plan the route around the party

A swim stop in the first hour, then music and food while the yacht cruises back for sunset, keeps the energy up. Tell the captain if you want a specific bay or a photo spot.

  5. 05

Sort out the logistics for guests

Share the exact marina, berth number and boarding time, and ask everyone to arrive 15 minutes early. Remind guests that soft-soled shoes or bare feet are the norm on deck.

Questions

How many guests can come to a birthday yacht party?

As many as the yacht is licensed for, and not one more. That ranges from about 6–8 on a small motor yacht to 50 or more on a large superyacht. Tell us your guest count and we will only send yachts that fit it.

Can we bring our own cake and drinks?

Many operators allow it, some charge a corkage or service fee and some require their own catering. The rule differs from yacht to yacht, so check the written offer or ask us before you buy anything.

Is a DJ or loud music allowed?

Often yes, but local regulations and marina rules can limit volume near the shore or after certain hours. Larger yachts are more likely to accommodate a DJ. We will ask the operator and the conditions will be stated in the offer.

How far in advance should we book?

For weekends in high season, popular destinations such as Ibiza, Mykonos or Dubai in winter can be busy weeks ahead. The earlier you send a request, the more options operators are likely to have free on your date.
