Speedboat rental in Phuket
A Finnish Axopar 37, a private boat for ten, built for days when you want several islands at once.
Speedboat rental in Phuket is for anyone who wants to reach Pileh Lagoon or Koh Hong while they are still quiet. The Axopar 37 runs at up to about 40 knots, arriving at the busy spots before the big tour boats, and you shape the day yourself rather than following a shared group timetable.
The 11.5-metre boat seats a party of up to ten. There is shade over the cockpit, water in the fridge, masks and snorkels aboard, and a shallow draft that lets it nose right up to beaches and rocks. It is driven by a captain who knows the national park zones and the rules for stopping at each island.
Couples, friends and families with older children who will happily get up early for empty beaches get the most out of it. If anyone in the group struggles with waves, or you would rather not rush, a catamaran is the better fit.

Where you go
Speedboats usually collect guests at Chalong Pier in the south or from an east-coast marina such as Royal Phuket Marina, Boat Lagoon or Ao Po Grand Marina. The most common routes are Phi Phi with Pileh Lagoon, Phang Nga Bay with James Bond Island and Koh Hong, or the Racha islands for snorkelling. For a short outing, Coral Island (Koh Hae) is close by.

When to go
The boat is at its best from November to April, when the sea is flat and the open-water crossing is smooth. From May to October monsoon swell can make Phi Phi uncomfortable, and the captain will more likely suggest Phang Nga. We recommend an early start, which is the whole point of a private speedboat.
Speedboat rental in Phuket: FAQ
How many people does a speedboat in Phuket take?
The Axopar 37 is rated for ten guests plus the captain. Groups of six to eight usually sit more comfortably and all fit in the shade.
Will we get seasick on a speedboat?
On flat dry-season water the boat rides softly, but in a swell it does bounce. If you are prone to seasickness, take something beforehand and ask the captain to slow down on the open stretches.
How many islands can we see in a day?
Usually two or three stops: Phi Phi with Pileh Lagoon plus a snorkel spot, for instance, or James Bond Island and Koh Hong in Phang Nga Bay. The exact plan depends on the weather and your start time.
Do we need cash?
Yes, national park fees are normally paid on the spot in cash for each guest. We will confirm the amount when your booking is confirmed.
