Motor yacht charter in Montenegro lets you see both faces of the country in one day: the mountain-walled 'fjord' of Boka Kotorska and the open sea off the Budva beaches. Distances are modest, and a motor yacht turns them into quick hops between swims.

The 15.7-metre Azimut 50 is the all-rounder for the bay. Its flybridge gives the finest angle on the peaks, Perast and Kotor's old walls, the air-conditioned saloon offers relief at noon, and the deckhand launches the tender for a landing at Our Lady of the Rocks. Porto Montenegro guests often pick it when they want a crewed boat without stepping up to a superyacht.

The Princess V58 is an 18.2-metre British sports yacht whose deep-V hull deals confidently with the sea outside the bay. Its sliding roof lets in sunshine and salt air, and with up to 36 knots on tap she can run from Tivat to Sveti Stefan and come home via the Blue Cave in a day. Each boat carries twelve and has three cabins.

Where you go

Most departures are from Porto Montenegro in Tivat, though you can also board at the Port of Kotor, Marina Budva or Portonovi in Herceg Novi. Inside the bay the classics are Perast, Our Lady of the Rocks and Kotor old town; outside lie Mamula fortress, the Blue Cave on Luštica and the Budva Riviera with Sveti Stefan.

Marinas

  • Porto Montenegro (Tivat)
  • Marina Budva
  • Port of Kotor
  • Portonovi (Herceg Novi)

When to go

June to September is the prime window, with water at 24–26 °C; May and October can be lovely but carry a chance of rain. Both yachts usually have a three-hour minimum, enough for a cruise around the bay. For the coast down to Sveti Stefan, book a whole day, ideally on the Princess V58.

Motor yacht charter in Montenegro: FAQ

Azimut 50 or Princess V58: which should we choose?

For the bay and a slow look at Perast and Kotor, the Azimut with its flybridge is the better fit. To head into open water and cover the coast to Budva, choose the V58, which is faster and handles waves better.

Can we see the Blue Cave and Perast in three hours?

Usually you need to pick one direction, deeper into the bay or out towards its mouth. Four or five hours lets you combine both.

Does it work for a romantic evening?

Yes, especially the Princess V58: her sliding roof and waterline platform make her a frequent choice for an evening off Perast or an anniversary.
