Speedboat rental in Santorini
A nimble day boat in place of a scheduled cruise: you choose the start time and where to stay longer.
Speedboat rental in Santorini is the answer if fixed five-hour itineraries feel restrictive. The Jeanneau Cap Camarat 10.5 WA, a French-built open boat of 10.6 metres, tops out near 40 knots, so a three-hour booking is plenty for the south of the caldera — the red-cliffed beach, its pale-pebbled neighbour and the warm springs off Palea Kameni.
Under the T-top there is welcome shade, the foredeck carries a sunpad, and a little cabin below hides a head — something you will appreciate on a long morning. A boarding ladder lets swimmers drop in right beside the rocks. Ten can squeeze aboard, but couples and groups of four or five are the typical crowd.
What you are really paying for is freedom. The captain bends the plan to your mood and to wherever is emptiest at that moment: an extra half-hour at the springs, a second visit to a favourite cove, or an early start before anyone else arrives. Three hours is normally the shortest booking.

Where you go
She is moored at Vlychada, just around the coast from both coloured beaches. A standard three-hour circuit covers the southern shoreline near Akrotiri and then crosses to the springs. Add time and you can walk the crater path on Nea Kameni or motor north beneath the cliffs as far as Oia.

- Ammoudi Bay (Oia)

When to go
The boat runs from April to the end of October and is most pleasant in late spring and September. Mornings usually mean flatter water and emptier beaches; an evening booking lets you watch the sunset off Oia from the water. In blustery July and August weather the captain stays south and may skip the northern stretch.
Speedboat rental in Santorini: FAQ
We are only four — speedboat or catamaran?
For a handful of people who prize flexibility, the speedboat usually wins: you pay for the hours you use and can change course whenever you like. A catamaran makes more sense if you want a cooked meal aboard and a big deck to spread out on.
Can we catch the sunset at Oia?
Yes, book the evening slot. The captain times the run so you are lying off Oia as the light goes, then returns to Vlychada. On gusty evenings, though, the north end of the caldera can get choppy.
Is there a loo?
There is — the Cap Camarat 10.5 WA has a head in its small cabin, which also doubles as a changing room after the springs.
