Motor yacht charter in Dubai is the format most groups settle on: these boats are big enough for twenty people yet quick enough to circle Palm Jumeirah and be back at the berth within a couple of hours. The flybridge works as a viewing deck, and once the sun starts to bite there is an air-conditioned saloon waiting below.

Three models are listed here. Gulf Craft's Majesty 56, built in the Emirates, is 17.1 metres long, carries up to 20 guests and has three cabins, a sensible pick for a birthday or a first taste of the sea. The Italian Azimut 62 at 19.2 metres also takes twenty, but adds a fourth cabin and a bar counter on the upper deck. The Sunseeker Manhattan 66 is the largest of the trio at 20.6 metres, with room for 22, a crew of three and, on certain boats, a jacuzzi.

A two-hour loop is enough for photos at Atlantis and the sail-shaped hotel; three or four hours leave time to drop anchor for a swim or push on to The World Islands. Proposals and private parties tend to go to the Manhattan 66, while the Majesty 56 comfortably covers a family afternoon with children.

Where you go

Most motor yachts are berthed in Dubai Marina, with others at Dubai Harbour, Mina Rashid Marina and Bluewaters; the exact berth is confirmed at booking. Leaving the Marina, the yacht passes the JBR towers and Ain Dubai, rounds the outer crescent of the Palm and runs down the Jumeirah shoreline to the Burj Al Arab. Longer charters stretch the route out to The World Islands.

When to go

October to April is the most comfortable stretch, warm on deck without being stifling. In summer, go for an early-morning departure or an evening slot; sunset times in high season are the first to sell out, so reserve them well ahead. The usual minimum is two hours on the Majesty 56 and Azimut 62 and three on the Manhattan 66.

Motor yacht charter in Dubai: FAQ

How does the Majesty 56 differ from the Sunseeker Manhattan 66?

The Majesty 56 is shorter at 17.1 metres, takes up to 20 guests and has three cabins, with a usual minimum of two hours. The 20.6-metre Manhattan 66 seats 22, is run by a team of three and is normally booked from three hours. Pick the Manhattan for a big moment and the Majesty for a birthday among friends.

Is there somewhere to change and a toilet on board?

Usually yes: all three models have cabins and a bathroom. A cabin is handy for changing before a swim and leaving bags, and the cool saloon is the place to sit out the midday sun.

Will we have time to swim?

Yes, on charters of three hours or more: the captain anchors off the Palm or near JBR beach, and you step into the water from the stern. A two-hour loop rarely leaves time for a proper stop.

Where does the yacht leave from and what ID do we need?

Most often Dubai Marina, sometimes Dubai Harbour or Bluewaters. The exact spot and boarding time arrive with your confirmation. Passports or Emirates ID are checked on the jetty, so bring them along.
